Introduction

As part of our celebration of 125 years since the Catholic Association first came to Lourdes on pilgrimage, the Trustees decided to set up a new initiative within the charity: to appoint as vice presidents a selection of CA Lourdes regulars, who have in the past held a position of responsibility within the Pilgrimage, or who have loyally supported this small charity and who have furthered the CA's aims to come to Lourdes each year.

Our thought behind this initiative is twofold: on the one hand, we should properly recognise and thank them for all they have done; and on the other, while each of them already bring knowledge, commitment and expertise to the pilgrimage, as an “Hon. Vice President” they will be able to provide further support to the CA through their presence, prayer and otherwise, and particularly by being an effective and experienced ambassador of the charity and its pilgrimage.

What is a Vice President?

A Catholic Association vice-president is a person who lends support to the CA by taking on figurehead role. Vice Presidents are not trustees or in management roles. It is an honorary position. Each VP should agree to the CA’s Code of Conduct. A VP is not an automatic role and is always at the discretion of the Trustees.
