Across the UK, it is possible to find many Churches which are dedicated to Saint Mary. This fact reminds us that the Blessed Virgin Mary is first among the saints. The feast of the Assumption is the greatest feast day among her many feasts. In Lourdes, it is a great celebration of joy and hope.
In the Archdiocese of Southwark, there is a beautiful statue of the Assumption at the Order of Carmelites priory in Aylesford (pictured below).

Before our pilgrimage begins there will be all kinds of things that we need to get ready. Bags to be packed, passports to be found, money to be exchanged and much more. A pilgrimage is much more than an ordinary trip. Lourdes is a holy place and so we need to prepare our hearts and minds as well as getting the bags packed.
Each day follows the same pattern of a short reflection on a theme followed by one or two passages from the Gospels.
For the first time, we are introducing a series of online times for reflection called: 'Time of Prayer with Our Lady'
It will be an online monthly reflection on Zoom and we hope that this will be a time of healing, hope and grace.
27 May at 8 - 9pm is our first session.
